وَالذَّاكِرِينَ اللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَالذَّاكِرَاتِ
… and the men who remember Allah often and the women who do so ~ Surah Al Ahzaab 33:35
The Quraan explains that if you show gratitude to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala, He will become pleased with you, and He will increase you in the Ni’mat’s (bounties) ….
ۗ وَإِن تَشْكُرُوا يَرْضَهُ لَكُمْ
And if you are grateful, He is pleased therewith for you
~ Surah Az Zumar 39:7
ۖ لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ
‘If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor] ~ Surah Ibraheem 14:7
We should therefore make immense Shukr when Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala chooses us to sit in gatherings of Zikr, wherein we rekindle our Imaan. We are given the Taufeeq (ability) and opportunity to take the name of Allah, or at least hear the name of Allah been taken. What a great Ni’mat (bounty) this is!
May Allah give us the Taufeeq of making Zikr right till we leave this world.
Hazrat Abdullah Bin Bisr RA narrated that a villager came to the Holy Court of Rasulullah Sallallaahu Alaihi wa Alihi waSallam and asked, “Which man is the best?” Rasulullah Sallallaahu Alaihi wa Alihi wa Sallam said, “It is the good-fortune of that person whose life is long and his deeds are good.” He ask RasulullahSallallaahu Alaihi wa Sallam! Which deed is the best?” Rasulullah Sallallaahu Alaihi wa Alihi wa Sallam said,“Your tongue be wet with Zikr of Allah when you part from this world.” ~ Tirmidh.
